SARATOGA SPRINGS — A Utah County SWAT team was called to a Saratoga Springs subdivision on the shore of Utah Lake around 7 p.m. on Monday after residents reported what they thought were gunshots inside one of the homes, Saratoga Springs Police Cpl. Aaron Rosen said.

Rosen said a woman and her children managed to flee a home on Amanda Lane following a domestic dispute. The woman's husband is assumed to still be inside the home but SWAT team members had not been able to make visual or verbal contact with the man as of 10:30 p.m., Rosen said. He said a tactical response was being planned that would allow police to make visual contact, but did not elaborate. Police are assuming the man is armed.

Police have locked down a half-mile wide perimeter around the home and are not letting anyone into the area, including the parents of children who remain alone in homes in the locked-down area.
