The Utah Technology Council announced Monday the three newest members of its Hall of Fame. Business leaders Greg Butterfield, Pete Meldrum and Mark Skolnick will be honored as the 2009 UTC Hall of Fame inductees.

The designation honors people with Utah ties who have made key contributions to the information technology and life science industries through new technology, innovation and leadership, according to a council news release.

"We are privileged to recognize these three remarkable gentlemen for their stellar achievements and the impact they've made to improving not only our way of life in Utah, but to improving it throughout the world," UTC president and CEO Richard Nelson said in the release.

He said their contributions have resulted in job growth, commercialization of technology and increased growth and development of the nation's technology sector and economy.

Butterfield is managing partner of SageCreek Partners, a consulting company that provides mentoring, strategy and coaching to technology companies. He also held executive-level positions at numerous companies, including Altiris, Legato, Novell and WordPerfect Corp. He was winner of the 2002 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award and served as the chairman of the board of the Utah Information Technology Association (now Utah Technology Council) from 2003 to 2005.
