Police say a man stabbed in the arm during an altercation at a Provo house party early Sunday morning was treated and released while an arrest is likely forthcoming of a minor male suspect in the incident.
Provo Police Sgt. Mark Crosby said officers responded to a report of a stabbing about 1:30 a.m. Sunday at a residence near 900 South and 500 West in Provo. Crosby said his agency was alerted by Orem Police after the victim went to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center for medical aid.
Officers from the Provo Gang Unit interviewed witnesses who were at the party, but Crosby said police do not believe that either the suspect or victim have gang ties.
Investigators had located the suspect and spoken with his family members, Crosby said, and that an arrest could be made sometime Sunday or Monday.
