Now that most kids are out of school, parents have to keep them entertained.

Lucky for you, a whole slew of family shows are opening this week that are sure to keep them from saying "I'm bored" — for at least an evening.

Here are this week's openings:

"Awesome '80s the Musical … Fairy Tales With a Bite," Midvale Copperview Theatre Arts, June 10-12, Wheeler Historic Farm, 6351 S. 900 East.

The production features more than 50 children from around the Salt Lake Valley.

Shows are each night at 7:30 p.m., admission is free.

"The Foreigner," Old Lyric Repertory Company, June 11-Aug. 1, Caine Lyric Theatre, 28 W. Center, Logan.

A favorite comedy, this story centers on Charlie, pathologically shy and stuck at a fishing lodge terrified of having to speak to people.

So begins the guise of Charlie being a "foreigner," and he's continually surprised at what people are willing to tell him when they think he can't understand them. The show stars W. Lee Daily.

Shows run in repertory with the rest of the OLRC season. Tickets are $19-$25 (435-797-8022 or www.boxoffice.usu.edu).

"Hello, Dolly!" June 13- Aug. 1, Hale Centre Theatre, 3333 S. Decker Lake Drive, West Valley City.

This Broadway classic, one of the longest-running in history, won 10 Tony awards and was turned into an Oscar-winning movie starring Barbara Streisand and Walter Mattthau.

The show features such well-known songs as "Before the Parade Passes By," "It Only Takes a Moment," and the title song, "Hello, Dolly!" Starring in the double-cast production are Camille Gerber Van Wagoner and Jennifer Parker Hohl as Dolly and Mark Knowles and David Weeks as Horace Vandergelder.

Shows are nightly, except Sundays, times vary, matinees are available. Tickets are $15-$26 (801-984-9000 or www.halecentretheatre.org).

"James Blonde: Agent 7-11 in Casino Real," June 11-Aug. 22, Desert Star Playhouse, 4861 S. State, Murray.

The name is Blonde … James Blonde. Whether saving the world from a power-hungry madman or just being a ladies' man, James Blonde will have you on the edge of your seat … with laughter.

Shows are nightly, except Sundays and Tuesdays, times vary, matinees are available. Tickets are $14.95-$17.95 (801-266-2600 or www.desertstar.biz).
