A pickup rolled near Wendover Thursday, sending seven children aged 9 to 17 to Primary Children's Medical Center in Salt Lake City.

The children were heading to hot springs near Last Chance Ranch, about 62 miles north of Wendover, when the 1991 Ford pickup truck flipped over a few times, rolling over the leg of one of the children.

Sgt. Ron Johnson of Tooele County Sheriff's Office said some of the children were sent by helicopter, and the rest by land ambulance to the children's hospital, where all were reported to be in stable condition.

The driver, a 17-year-old boy with a learner's permit, has not been charged with speeding down the dirt road they were driving on, but Johnson said he may be charged later for not having a registered driver with him.
