A 4.0 magnitude earthquake shook Box Elder County Wednesday afternoon.

The earthquake, which was reported at about 3:45 p.m., hit four miles west of Riverside, which is 10 miles north of Tremonton. Box Elder County Sheriff Lynn Yates said no one lives in the area, which is primarily mountaintops and fields.

"We got phone calls from concerned citizens," Yates said.

Residents of Tremonton, Garland and Fielding called in saying they could feel the shaking.

There are no reports of damage so far.
