A list of urban fishing ponds can be found on the DWR Web site at www.wildlife.utah.gov/cf/2008_book.pdf or in a booklet available from license vendors and DWR offices.
Wilson believes fishing will be good, "considering the number of fish planted and the fact that most lakes and reservoirs are full. Water is not going to be an issue. Streams may be running too high, but fishermen may do OK if they fish the tailwaters. They need to be aware that rivers are running high, and the water is very cold."
While no fishing license is required, those fishing on Saturday will be required to abide by state limit regulations.
In most Utah waters where trout are located, the limit is four. Included in the trout limit are grayling and hybrids, such as tiger trout.
At Strawberry and Panguitch, there is a slot limit with respect to Bear Lake cutthroat. Included in the limit there can be only one cutthroat over 22 inches. All other cutthroats must be released.
Other limits of the more popular catches are 50 bluegill and green sunfish in aggregate, eight channel catfish, 50 crappie, six largemouth and smallmouth bass in aggregate, 20 yellow perch and six wipers.
Those fishing on Saturday are advised to review limits and regulations by visiting the DWR Web site at www.wildlife.utah.gov/guidebooks/2009_fishing or picking up a regulation book from license vendors or DWR offices.
For more information contact the nearest DWR office or the Salt Lake office at 801-538-4700.
