FARMINGTON — A young man was in extremely critical condition Tuesday morning following a rollover accident on I-15 in Davis County.
Just after 7 a.m., a sport-utility vehicle traveling north on I-15 just north of Shepherd Lane drifted off to the shoulder of the road for an unknown reason, said Utah Highway Patrol trooper Cameron Roden.
The driver, a man in his early 20s, overcorrected, and his vehicle rolled several times, Roden said. The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle.
The man was taken by medical helicopter to Ogden's McKay-Dee Hospital in extremely critical condition. Traffic was temporarily stopped in both directions while crews blocked the road to land the helicopter and clean up debris.
What caused the man to go off the road was still under investigation Tuesday.
