BOUNTIFUL — A 10-year-old boy was hospitalized Friday with head trauma after being hit by a car while he was skateboarding across the street at 325 W. 400 North.
Bountiful police say the boy was in the crosswalk going from the south side of the street to the north when he was hit by a car driven by a 55-year-old woman. The driver said her dog had been distracting her in the car and the sunlight was in her eyes so she didn't see the youth.
The boy was taken first to Lakeview Hospital and later was flown to Primary Children's Medical Center, where his condition was described as "somewhat stable."
Police say the incident is still under investigation.
