Salt Lake City narcotics detectives served simultaneous search warrants Wednesday night, resulting in the arrests of three people, the seizure of drugs and two children being placed into state protective custody.
The warrants were executed at 9:45 p.m. near 1400 South and 300 East in Salt Lake City, and 3100 West and 3600 South in West Valley City. At the West Valley address, investigators seized about three pounds of marijuana and some methamphetamine, said Salt Lake police Sgt. Robin Snyder.
John Manuel Gustamontes, 59, was arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of drug-dealing and child endangerment. A 13-year-old found inside the house was placed into protective custody.
At the same time at the Salt Lake address, 32-year-old Maria Lopez and 35-year-old Monique Lopez were arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of meth and marijuana possession and child endangerment. A 5-year-old found at that address also was put into protective custody.
