Utah law requires children under age 13 who are on a boat, and anyone operating or riding as a passenger on a personal watercraft, to wear a properly sized life jacket.

However, Utah State Parks boating rangers encourage everyone to always wear a life jacket.

Utah boating accident statistics indicate most boating accident drowning victims would have likely survived had they been wearing a life jacket.

For more boating safety information, go to stateparks.utah.gov or call 801-538-7220.
