With the Memorial Day Weekend now over, the Utah State Parks Department is anticipating a busy camping season, as Utahns are taking advantage of recreation opportunities close to home — good water levels at lakes and reservoirs, affordable state park golf courses, full camping amenities and facilities, and a variety of family events and activities.

"People are definitely staying closer to home this year," said Utah State Parks Reservation Manager Emily DeBois. "Campers are booking sites earlier than usual, from the most popular campsites to the best-kept secrets."

Visitors are encouraged to plan ahead for the upcoming holidays and to reserve campsites and day-use pavilions as soon as possible.

For information or to make a reservation, call 1-800-322-3770 from outside the Salt Lake City calling area, 801-322-3770 within the area or via its Web site, stateparks.utah.gov.
