Man pleads guilty in death of woman killed by SUV

OGDEN — A man has pleaded guilty to automobile homicide, a second-degree felony, while driving under the influence of alcohol in the death of a woman earlier this month who was hit by an SUV.

Richard Bash, 40, of Roy, entered the plea Tuesday. Wendy Kerbs, 54, was killed May 13 when police say she was hit by an SUV as she worked in her Roy yard. Police say Bash was going about 60 mph when his SUV hit a power pole and flipped over before striking Kerbs.

Weber County Attorney Dee Smith says Bash's blood-alcohol content was measured at 0.10 percent. The legal limit is 0.08.

Misdemeanor counts of leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a suspended license and ignoring alcohol restrictions on driving were dismissed.

Sentencing is set for June 30 in 2nd District Court.
