FARMINGTON — Chrysler's recent decision to cut off some of its dealers has hit home at the Davis County Fair.
Fair organizers had been counting on $5,000 from Cutrubus Automotive Team's Layton Hills Dodge for the annual Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association rodeo.
The dealer, a fair sponsor since 1999, is among the 789 dealers with whom Chrysler has terminated its agreements.
On Tuesday, following a request from the dealer to undo its sponsorship for the fair, Davis County commissioners rescinded the contract.
"Layton Hills Dodge and Cutrubus have been amazing partners over the last 10 years," said Curtis Koch, assistant director of the Legacy Events Center, which hosts the annual Davis County Fair.
The Davis County Fair runs Aug. 15-18 at the Legacy Events Center, 151 S. 1100 West.
