Two women were taken to the hospital after they were hit while riding their bicycles in separate incidents Monday.

A vehicle was exiting a parking lot near 600 South and 200 West around 3 p.m. and hit a biker who was riding on the sidewalk. She was not wearing a helmet. She was taken to LDS Hospital, where she was listed in serious condition, according to Salt Lake City Police Lt. Melody Gray.

The second woman was hit by a car as she rode through the intersection at 700 South and 1100 East just after 3:30 p.m. A driver, who was later cited for failure to stop at a stop sign, had rolled through the intersection and hit the woman, who was wearing a helmet and suffered various cuts and bruises. She was taken to University Hospital and was listed in serious condition.
