ROUND ROCK, Texas — Two Salt Lake errors led to three unearned runs as the Round Rock Express downed the Bees 4-2 on Monday night.

Salt Lake led 1-0 in the third and Round Rock had runners at first and second with no outs when John Gall hit a would-be double-play ball that went through the legs of third baseman Freddy Sandoval. That error led to a pair of unearned runs to give the Express a 2-1 lead.

A two-base error by Sandoval on a Matt Kata ground ball to open the fourth inning led to another run.

Dan Denham (3-1) was the tough-luck losing pitcher as he allowed only one earned run on nine hits in six innings of work for his first loss of the season.

Terry Evans led the Bees with three hits and two runs batted in. He opened with a home run on the fifth pitch of the game to give Salt Lake a 1-0 lead and he singled in the last run in the ninth inning. That also extended his season-high hitting streak to 11 games.

The Bees had chances in each of the last four innings to tie game, but they went 0-for-6 with the potential tying run at the plate. They left 10 runners on base.

Salt Lake plays three more in Texas before hosting Reno on Friday.
