I have thought that at least one reason President Barack Obama chose our governor, Jon Huntsman Jr., as ambassador to China was to eliminate an increasingly stronger challenger for the 2012 presidential election. Several years in China should get Huntsman's name out of the pages of the media and minds of the people.
Still, I was disappointed in Michael Jarvis' comments, "I don't know why anybody would want to live in China ..." He obviously has not been to China. I would live there in a heartbeat if not for my family here in Utah. The people are wonderful, kind, friendly, honest, hard-working. The scenery is breathtaking. The history is an unbroken and honored chain going back thousands of years. There are problems there, of course, but there are many great and beautiful things about China and the Chinese people.
