LOGAN — Suzanne Pierce-Moore was elected chairwoman of the Utah State University Board of Trustees during a regular session of the institution's governing body last week.
Pierce-Moore has been a member of the USU board for three years, two as vice-chairwoman. She replaces Richard Shipley, who held the position four of the six years he has served on the board.
"I am honored and thrilled for this opportunity," Pierce-Moore said, adding that she will use her leadership role to further the university's educational access to students statewide, to help highlight the university's role as an economic engine and to help complete the university's 2012 comprehensive campaign. "I look forward to continuing my close association with outstanding individuals who deeply care about Utah State University."
