WEST VALLEY CITY — City manager Wayne Pyle has chosen his deputy city manager to head West Valley's community and economic development department.
Nicole Cottle will replace department director Joseph Moore, who is retiring, said city spokesman Aaron Crim.
"I look forward to moving into this position and working on some of the projects that are changing the face of West Valley City," Cottle said.
Pyle chose to move forward with the appointment to prevent a lapse in department leadership due to the importance of economic development in the city, Crim said.
Cottle also will continue working as legislative liaison for the city.
