Mason joined Pembroke in 2008 after a successful playing career at the University of San Diego and a two-year stint as an assistant coach at Georgia Southern.

A 2006 graduate of San Diego, Mason was a four-year letterwinner for the Toreros and was named the USD Offensive Player of the Year in 2003, 2004 and 2006. She also earned All-Pacific Coast Softball Conference honors during her final three seasons and was named the 2006 PCSC Scholar Athlete of the Year in 2006.

In addition, she was also named to the 2006 ESPN the Magazine CoSIDA All-America Academic Third Team, while also earning District 8 Academic First Team honors.

Mason was a model of consistency for the Toreros, starting 182 of the 184 games she appeared in, collecting 159 hits and driving in 81 runs.

She registered a career batting average of .302 with 57 extra base hits, including 12 home runs as a catcher and third baseman.

After graduation, Mason became a graduate assistant coach at Georgia Southern University, earning her master*s degree in Political Science in 2008. While at GSU, she worked with pitchers, catchers and outfielders with 10 of her players earning all-conference honors. The Eagles' Robyne Saliga was named the 2008 Southern Conference Player of the Year under the guidance of Mason this past season.

Over the past four years, Mason has been involved with Competitive Edge International, an interdenominational Christian sports ministry. After working as an assistant coach and competing as a player in international

competitions in Southeast Asia, she made the trip this past winter as a head coach. During the trip, her team held clinics with a developing national softball team.

MEN'S GOLF: Weber State University golfers Tyler and Jordan Herzog, two brothers from Fremont High School in Plain City, Utah, each earned All-America Sky Golf Conference honors on Monday as the conference released its All-Conference teams and individual award winners. Jordan Herzog was also named Co-Freshman of the Year.

Sacramento State's Scott DeBorba and Utah Valley's Nick Nelson shared the Player of the Year award, while Jordan Herzog split the Freshman of the Year award with Cameron Rappleye of Sacramento State. The Hornets also grabbed the Coach of the Year award, which went to David Sutherland.

The All-Conference First Team consisted of DeBorba, Nelson, Armen Kirakossian of Texas-Pan American, Rappleye and Grant Norton of Sac State. Named to the Second Team were Shane Pearce (UTPA), Brian Albertazzi (Hartford), Steve Bidne (Northern Colorado) and Tyler and Jordan Herzog.
