UTAH VALLEY
MEN'S BASKETBALL: Utah Valley University's men's basketball coach Dick Hunsaker announced that he will be holding his annual Individual Skills Basketball Camp June 22-26 at the McKay Center in Orem.
Hunsaker's Individual Skills Camp is recognized as an outstanding teaching camp in the state of Utah. Participants will learn basketball fundamentals such as shooting, free throw shooting, ball handling, passing, defense, and individual offense skills.
Ages 7-17 are invited to participate. The cost to participate is $235, and it will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Wolverine basketball players past and present will be there. Last year, current Utah Jazz point guard and former UVU-star Ronnie Price appeared at the camp and assisted in teaching skills to campers.
"Coach Hunsaker's camps have helped me become the player that I am today," NBA prospect and departing UVU senior Ryan Toolson said. "There is no one that can teach the fundamentals of basketball better than he can. If you take basketball seriously then Coach Hunsaker's camp is the place for you."

BASEBALL: Junior Justin Smith was named the Great West Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this season.
Smith struck out 10 in a 12-1 victory at Hawaii on Saturday in Honolulu. He allowed just one run on five hits in 8.1 innings, earning his eighth win of the year. The Wolverines split a four-game series with the Rainbows, who entered the weekend with the NCAA's 33rd rated RPI.
In his first season as a Wolverine, Smith finished season with team-best 8-4 record, 4.73 ERA and 91 K's in 91.1 innings while winning 7 of his last 8 decisions.
WEBER STATE
SOFTBALL: Head coach Tina Johnson took another step in the return of softball to Weber State recently as she added Sara Mason as an assistant coach. Mason joins the Wildcats from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, where she spent the 2008-09 season as an assistant coach.
"Sara has a great eye for detail which has helped her be successful as a pitching and hitting coach," said Johnson. "She played her collegiate career at San Diego so she has first hand experience with the caliber of recruits we'll need to be successful in the PCSC. Sara's upbeat, positive attitude is refreshing and I'm looking forward to her joining the softball coaching staff at Weber State."
