A crash in Cottonwood Heights has left two people in serious condition; the condition of their child was unknown Sunday.
Witnesses told Cottonwood Heights Police Sgt. Scott Peck that a sport utility vehicle traveling south blew through a red light at the intersection of Highland Drive and 8100 South, striking a passenger car traveling west. Both the driver and the passenger in the car were transported to the hospital in serious condition by Air Med. Peck said the collision mangled the car and firefighters had to cut the passenger out of the wreckage.
The child also was taken to the hospital, but Peck said responding agencies were not sure about the youth's condition.
The woman driving the SUV received minor injuries, Peck said.
