SLCC president to speak in Middle East
The president of Utah's largest community college is headed to Amman, Jordan, this summer to share her views on and experience with technical education.
Salt Lake Community College President Cynthia Bioteau has been invited to speak at the June 18 Broader Middle East and North Africa Community and Technical College Symposium, selected to participate due to her expertise in literacy issues, social, economic, work-force and educational development.
Bioteau will present and participate in a discussion with leaders from business, industry and education focused on building business and education partnerships that promotes work-force development. Examining the role of noncredit courses at community colleges will be a major focus of her presentation.
Other experts and international leaders will be in attendance, considering how technological innovations, college policy and governance issues, student support services and links between the educational and private sectors can shape the development of the region's college system.
