Salt Lake police were looking Monday for a group that robbed a man and beat him unconscious with his own skateboard.

The 21-year-old man was riding on 800 South near 200 East about 1:45 a.m. Saturday when three men attacked him, said Salt Lake police spokeswoman Lara Jones. The attackers beat the victim with his skateboard, took his wallet and left him on the ground unconscious, Jones said.

The man regained consciousness before being sent to the hospital in serious condition.

The search for the robbers continued Monday. Anyone with information can call police at 801-799-INFO (4636).
