"Nate had a good tournament," SUU Coach Richard Church said. "This is the hardest golf course I've ever seen. It's long and it played wet and windy at times. When nobody breaks par you know it's a tough course. We were a little disappointed Nate didn't finish higher, but he still finished in the top third and just a stroke out of the top-13."

BASEBALL: The Utah baseball team closed out its regular season with a 12 inning contest against San Diego State, falling 10-9 at Lindquist Field in Ogden.

With Utah up 7-4 going into the ninth, San Diego State rallied in the top of the inning to tie the game, 7-7, off a three-run homer by Ryan O'Sullivan.

After both teams went scoreless after the 10th inning, they both left runners on base in the in the 11th. SDSU's Mitch Blackburn led off the inning with a single but was left on first, while Corey Shimada had a double for the Utes in the bottom of the inning and C.J. Cron was intentionally walked, but neither could score.

SDSU broke through in the 12th inning with three runs. Pinch hitter Guy Willeford singled with one out and scored when Erik Castro singled through the right side to break the tie. Blackburn gave the Aztecs two insurance runs with a bases-loaded double for a 10-7 lead.

The Utes rallied in the bottom of the inning. Devin Walker led off the inning with a home run to cut the SDSU lead to two runs. With one out, Rick Cornu doubled to right center, which was followed by a base hit from Michael Beltran. Shimada reached on a fielders choice that scored Cornu and cut the lead to one, 10-9. Tyler Yagi singled and Nick Kuroczko walked to load the bases with two outs before Cron grounded out to end the game.

Austin Jones, who hit a bases-loaded double and a two-run home run, drove in five RBI for the Utes. Shimada, Kuroczko, Cornu and Beltran each had two hits.

Sixth-seeded Utah will face third seed BYU in the first game of the MWC Tournament at 3:00 p.m. (CT) on Tuesday, May 19.

WEBER STATE

TRACK AND FIELD: Weber State's men finished second and the women, fourth, at the 2009 Big Sky Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships held this week at the University of Montana in Missoula.

Northern Arizona won its third straight men's title rolling up 169 points. The Wildcats were second with 142, followed by Idaho State (132), Montana State (105), Eastern Washington (82), Sacramento State (65), Montana (58), Northern Colorado (40) and Portland State (24).
