MEN'S GOLF: Southern Utah's Nate Page shot 76 in the second round of the NCAA South Central Golf Tournament Friday but remained among the tournament's leaders, in 19th place, at 5-over par 149 heading into today's final round. The tournament is being contested over th par 72, 7,410-yard Karsten Creek Golf Club at Stillwater, Okla.
Page, who shot a 1-over 73 Thursday for a share of 11th place, lost three more strokes to par but was still just seven strokes off the pace of second-round co-leaders Connor McHenry (Wichita State) and Peter Uihelein (Oklahoma State), who were at 2-under 142.
"Nate hung in there in some difficult conditions again today," SUU Coach Richard Church said. "The course is long and the weather has been a challenge, too. He was a grinder out there today and he's still in a good position."
Tourney host Oklahoma State takes a 13-shot team lead into today's final round. The Cowboys shot 289 Friday to open up that lead over Tennessee-Chattanooga, which was tied with OSU heading into Friday's play.
Page is paired with Oral Roberts' Terrence Begnel and Old Dominion's Eric Onesi in today's final round. The threesome is scheduled to tee off at 7:50 a.m. MDT.
