Lacrosse is alive and well in Utah despite the fact it is not yet sanctioned by the Utah High School Activities Association. Consequently, all is not smoothly apportioned as boys play in Division A and Division B and girls play in Division I and Division II.
Nevertheless, finals matches are scheduled for Saturday in all four divisions at Granite High School.
Defending boys A champion Bountiful meets up with Judge Memorial at 7:30 p.m. The Bulldogs have a history of success in lacrosse and now hope to return to their former glory led by defensive specialist Pat Hagan. Judge toppled Jordan 5-3 in the semifinals on Wednesday to advance.
Mike Fabrizio led the Braves over Riverton, 11-5, in the other semifinal game. The boys B title match will feature Sky View vs. Orem at 1 p.m.
Girls play will be interspersed between boys matches, with the Division II match at 10 a.m. matching Skyline and Brighton. At 4:30 p.m., Alta will clash with Murray in the Division I game featuring Alta's Kristianna Wright and Murray's Stephanie Meyer as the league's MVPs at their respective positions.
Murray reached the final by defeating Park City 10-5 in Wednesday's semifinal. Alta conquered Riverton 15-4 to move on to the final.
