DVD Review: DVD releases include 'Dr. Dolittle,' 'Fanboys'

The following DVDs will be released Tuesday, unless otherwise specified:

"Dr. Dolittle: Million Dollar Mutts" (Fox, $22.98) — Direct-to-DVD sequel, with Kyla Pratt reprising her role as Maya Dolittle.

Special features: Behind-the-scenes minidocumentaries.

PG (vulgarity)

"Driven to Kill" (Fox, $22.98) — Revenge-thriller, starring Steven Seagal as a former member of the Russian mafia.

Special features: Unrated version (also $22.98) features footage cut from theatrical release.

R (violence, profanity, sex, nudity)

"Fanboys" (Weinstein, $19.98) — Comedy starring Dan Fogler and Jay Baruchel as die-hard "Star Wars" fans.

Special features: Footage cut from theatrical release, behind-the-scenes minidocumentary.

PG-13 (vulgarity, profanity, brief sex, drugs)

"My Bloody Valentine 3-D" (Lionsgate, $34.98) — ★★ —The remake not only pays a proper homage to the 1981 original but kicks it up about 1,000 notches.

Special features: Four pairs of 3-D glasses for viewing, 2-D version of film, deleted scenes, behind-the-scenes minidocumentary.

R (violence, gore, sex, nudity, profanity) — Rick Bentley, McClatchy Newspapers

"Outlander" (Weinstein, $19.98) — Science-fiction thriller starring Jim Caviezel as man fighting Vikings and an extraterrestrial threat.

Special features: Unrated version (also $19.98) features footage cut from theatrical release.

Not rated, probable R (violence)

"Paul Blart: Mall Cop" (Sony, $28.96) — ★★ — "The King of Queens" star Kevin James plays a harried security guard in this unfunny comedy.

Special features: Deleted scenes.

PG (violence, mild profanity, slurs, vulgarity

"Valkyrie" (Lionsgate/MGM, $29.98) — ★★½ — This tense, World War II assassination thriller has a good supporting cast. Tom Cruise stars.

Special features: Two-disc special edition ($34.98) includes behind-the-scenes minidocumentaries, deleted scenes, digital copy of film for home-electronics devices.

PG-13 (violence, brief gore, profanity, vulgarity, drugs)
