DUCHESNE — Two men died Tuesday night when their pickup truck went off a road and rolled down an embankment.

The Utah Highway Patrol said Todd Wager, 40, was driving south on state Route 87 when he crossed the center line around 9:30 p.m. Troopers said the Duchesne resident overcorrected and his truck flipped on its side, sliding across the road.

The truck then went down a 30-foot embankment, according to the UHP, and came to rest in a gully.

Troopers said neither Wager nor his passenger, Michael William Sayles, 45, of Fruitland, Duchesne County, were wearing seat belts.

Both were ejected and died at the scene.

Authorities are investigating whether alcohol or drug use may have played a part in the crash.
