Jordan School District is proposing to raise its breakfast prices by 10 cents and lunch prices by 25 cents.
The district is trying to keep up with the recent increases in food costs, said Jana Cruz, Jordan district director of nutrition sciences.
Jordan district hasn't raised meal costs since 2005. Elementary lunches have been $1.50 and are proposed to rise to $1.75. Secondary school lunches have been $1.75 and are to be $2.
Elementary breakfasts have been 70 cents and are set to be 80 cents if approved. Secondary school breakfasts are 90 cents and slated to rise to $1.
"Food prices were at record highs in 2008 and haven't dropped," Cruz said.
