Cultural festival to offer tastes around world

Saturday, 4 p.m.: Cathy Tshilombo-Lokemba will cook Congolese Soso Muamba Nguba Na Makemba. This is a simmered dish of chicken breast and vegetables, served with a fragrant peanut sauce and fried plantains.

Saturday, 6 p.m.: Caroline (Coco) Allam will make Lebanon's national dish, tabbouleh salad. It's made with cracked wheat, chopped parsley, mint and tomatoes.

Sunday, 2 p.m.: Arisitidis Deslis will create Greek Spanakopita, a savory pie of spinach, feta cheese and eggs, baked inside a flaky filo crust.

Sunday, 4 p.m.: Dana Tumpowsky will fry up variations of Jewish latkes, or potato pancakes.

Sunday, 6 p.m.: Dona Rosita will prepare Salvadoran Papusas, which are hand-rolled tortillas stuffed with meat, beans, cheese and then fried.
