WEST VALLEY CITY — Police arrested a man who allegedly robbed a pharmacy Tuesday afternoon but didn't get too far.
About 1:40 p.m. a man walked into the pharmacy at Wal-Mart, 3180 S. 5600 West, intimated he had a gun, though none was seen, and demanded painkillers, said West Valley police Capt. Tom McLachlan. The man left with an undisclosed amount of pills.
Police responding to the scene and searching the area spotted a man who matched the robber's description walking on the sidewalk near 5600 West and 2900 South, McLachlan said. The man was searched, and pills stolen from the pharmacy were found in his pocket, he said.
Eric Bellini, 54, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of aggravated robbery.
