PROVO — Utah's own SHeDAISY has been added to the lineup for this year's Stadium of Fire, organizers announced.
Originally from Magna, the popular country trio will appear in addition to the Jonas Brothers and host Glenn Beck, along with more than 1,000 other performers. Stadium of Fire, the crowning event of America's Freedom Festival at Provo on July 4, also will be broadcast to U.S. troops and their families around the globe through the American Forces Network.
The trio of sisters, Kristyn, Kelsi and Kassidy Osborn, started off singing in Utah before moving to Nashville, Tenn., in 1989. Their work paid off when they landed a record deal with Lyric Street Records in 1997.
The group's debut album, "The Whole SHeBANG," was released in 1999. Its first three singles — 1999's "Little Good-Byes" and "This Woman Needs," along with 2000's "I Will … But" — all were Top 10 hits on the Billboard country charts. "The Whole SHeBANG" was certified platinum in the United States, for sales of 1 million copies. The album spent 99 weeks on the Billboard country charts.
In 2008, SHeDAISY released its first greatest hits package, "The Best of SHeDAISY," with songs from the trio's first four studio albums. This fall, SHeDAISY will release its first new album of original music in nearly four years, "A Story To Tell." Kristyn Osborn has co-written every track on the new album.
Tickets for this year's Stadium of Fire are available online at www.stadiumoffire.com and at the BYU Marriott Center ticket office. Stadium of Fire is set for 8 p.m. July 4, 2009 at BYU's LaVell Edwards Stadium.
