Utah health officials say the number of confirmed H1N1 flu cases in the state has reached 60.

Of those, the Utah Health Department said Friday that 32 are in the Summit County Health District and 18 are in the Salt Lake Valley Health Department district.

Other cases are scattered around the state.

On Thursday, 27 cases were reported as confirmed in Utah.

The health department says the increase in the number of cases is likely because Utah is now conducting its own tests for swine flu, which is faster than relying on the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta.

State officials say there are also two probable cases of swine flu in Utah.
