BASEBALL: The Utah baseball team closes out the regular season over the next two weeks, beginning with a three-game series against No. 15 TCU on Friday.

The Utes are coming off a strong weekend against Air Force, and have won six of their last eight games, including a five-game winning streak.

Utah (19-24, 6-12 MWC) went 1-2 against TCU in their first meeting, March 20-22, winning the final game of the series in extra innings, 9-8.

"We have a chance to play a really good team again and match up against them," head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "Now is the time we hope to make a push to be playing our best baseball for if and when we get to the tournament.""

TCU is ranked in every major poll and is ranked as high as 15th by Baseball America. Chris Ellington leads the Horned Frogs with a .357 batting average, including 17 doubles, a triple and five home runs. Seven players are batting over .300 for TCU.
