MAGNA — A contract worker at Kennecott Utah Copper was flown to a hospital after he was burned on his neck and wrist by sulfuric acid.
Kennecott spokeswoman Jana Kettering says the man was using a vacuum system to load acid into a tanker on Monday when some of the liquid escaped.
Kettering says the man was wearing protective gear, including clothing to guard his body, face, eyes and head.
The man, who works for North American Industrial Services, was given a decontamination shower and was flown to University Hospital. He was treated and later released.
