The Utah Highway Patrol is investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a woman whose body was found near the base of an overpass on I-215 early Sunday morning.
Trooper Todd Johnson said the body of a woman, who has not been identified, was spotted by a passing motorist near I-215 and 4100 South around 6 a.m. Sunday.
Johnson said the condition of the body indicates that she was likely hit by a vehicle, but could not determine that that was the cause of her death. He also said the fact that the discovery was made near the base of an overpass structure at 4100 South raises the possibility that she jumped, or was pushed, from the overhead roadway.
Johnson said the investigation was ongoing Sunday, and the medical examiner was working to determine a cause of death in the incident.
