BOSTON — Jason Bay homered off Mariano Rivera with two outs in the ninth to send the game to extra innings, and Kevin Youkilis hit a solo shot in the 11th as the Boston Red Sox beat the New York Yankees 5-4 for their eighth straight victory.
Ramon Ramirez (2-0) pitched one inning for the win.
Damaso Marte (0-1) struck out three and allowed one hit, the long drive over the Green Monster for Youkilis' fifth homer of the year and his second game-ender.
Rivera made his first appearance of more than one inning this season. He was one out away from his fifth save in five tries when Bay homered near the flagpole in left-center.
TWINS 5, INDIANS 1: At Cleveland, Justin Morneau homered, Nick Blackburn pitched seven solid innings and the Minnesota Twins beat the Cleveland Indians.
Morneau hit Fausto Carmona's first pitch of the fourth into the seats in right to give the Twins a 2-1 lead, and also drove in a run with a fielder's choice in the seventh. Morneau batted .351 (13-for-37) with a homer, five doubles and 10 RBIs in nine games at Progressive Field last season.
RANGERS 5, ORIOLES 4: At Baltimore, Michael Young hit a two-out, two-run homer off George Sherrill in the ninth inning, giving the Texas Rangers a 5-4 comeback victory over Baltimore.
The Rangers trailed 4-1 in the fifth inning and missed a chance to take the lead in the eighth before Young connected following a two-out single by Ian Kinsler. It was the third time in the last five games that Young has tied or put the Rangers ahead with a late home run.
MARINERS 8, ANGELS 3: At Anaheim, Calif., Russell Branyan homered in his return to the Seattle lineup, and the Mariners used a six-run fifth inning to beat the Los Angeles Angels.
Erik Bedard (2-1) allowed three runs — two earned — and five hits in 6 2-3 innings for Seattle.
ROYALS 6, TIGERS 1: At Kansas City, Mo., Zack Greinke struck out 10 in his second straight complete game, shrugging off the end of his scoreless inning streak in the Kansas City Royals' 6-1 victory over the Detroit Tigers on Friday night.
Greinke (4-0) allowed an unearned run in the fifth when Gerald Laird led off with a double and scored on shortstop Mike Aviles' throwing error, halting the right-hander's streak at 38 innings.
Kansas City's Alberto Callaspo led off the second with his first big league home run, ending the longest homerless drought in the majors among active players. He had gone 441 at-bats without one.
Mark Teahen also hit a two-run homer for Kansas City.
BLUE JAYS 14, WHITE SOX 0: At Chicago, Adam Lind hit three doubles, Aaron Hill drove in three runs and the Toronto Blue Jays routed the Chicago White Sox 14-0 on Friday night.
Rod Barajas was 3-for-5 with two RBIs and Jose Bautista homered in the ninth for Toronto, which has won seven of its last nine games. Bautista's solo shot gave the Blue Jays a season-high 14 runs to go along with their season-best 21 hits.
RAYS 8, ATHLETICS 2: At Oakland, Calif., Carlos Pena hit a pair of home runs, Scott Kazmir allowed two hits over six innings and the Tampa Bay Rays beat the Oakland Athletics.
