FLY WITH THE FLOCK
Registration is open for the Ogden Nature Center's 7th annual "Fly With the Flock" 5K fun run and 2.5K kids' run.
The run is slated for Saturday, May 9. The center's staff will be on hand to introduce live birds of prey and other native animals. Union Grill will cater a pancake breakfast. Prize drawings will follow the race, along with kids' activities.
Registration fees are $20 for adults and $14 for children under 12. After May 1, late registration fees are $25 for adults and $16 for kids. T-shirts and a canvas goodie bag will be given to those who pre-register and all participants will be entered to win prize drawings.

SKI HALL OF FAME
Four skiing athletes were inducted into the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in ceremonies at Deer Valley.
Olympic freestyle medalists Liz McIntyre from Granby, Colo., and Nelson Carmichael of Steamboat Springs, Colo. along with ski mountaineering legend Bill Briggs of Jackson Hole, Wyo., and two-time alpine Olympian Cary Adgate of Boyne Falls, Mich., were honored and were inducted into the class of 2008.
Carmichael and McIntyre made history during freestyle's Olympic debut, with Carmichael taking moguls bronze in 1992 and McIntyre silver in 1994. The Olympic medalists will be recognized alongside Adgate, a six-time U.S. champion, and Briggs, who has a collection of famous first descents to his name.
SMART SKIERS
The U.S. Collegiate Ski and Snowboard Association recently named 21 Westminster students from its ski and snowboard teams as academic All-Americans, more than any of the 36 schools in the association.
Those named include the following:
First Team: Kendall Brown, Sage Dunham, Zachary Lancaster, Matiss Madars, Ulrikke Nicolaisen, Kelsey Nilsen and Siri Wieringa.
Second Team: Desiree Deselrod, Ryan Donavan, Lorentz Gedde-Dahl, Ford Herbard, Robin Hill, Mark Speicher and Perrine Voisin.
Honorable Mention: Hallie Beaver, Mackenzie Burns, Nicholas Cummings, Melissa Gill, Tyler Kjesbo, Gabriel Lepine and Zachary Moon-Collins.
