The Iranian Basketball Federation has invited the Utah Flash of the National Basketball Association Developmental League to play a few games in Tehran, NBA Commissioner David Stern said.

The Iranian team played in the NBA summer league in Salt Lake City last year. The Flash are considering the offer, Stern said at the NBA owners meetings in New York.

The U.S. has accused Iran of seeking to develop nuclear weapons. Iran says its nuclear reactors are only being used for generating electricity.

The U.S. and its European partners, along with Russia and China, instructed EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana to request a new round of talks with Iran.

Iran's top nuclear negotiator, Saeed Jalili, said on April 13 that his country "welcomes" the discussions, the official Islamic Republic News Agency reported.
