PLEASANT GROVE — A single-car accident closed northbound I-15 near Pleasant Grove for a short time Wednesday evening.
At about 9 p.m. a man was driving his vehicle in the left lane when he lost control and the car veered into the cement barrier, Utah Highway Patrol Trooper Cameron Roden said.
The freeway was closed completely while a helicopter landed and secured the man in order to transport him to Utah Valley Medical Center, Roden said.
"They do suspect that some type of health problems are what might have caused the accident," Roden said.
The man was taken in serious condition to the hospital. Several lanes of the freeway remained closed for more than an hour while crews cleared the scene.
