In the southern suburb of Sandy, plans for a Broadway-style theater have slowed way down, though Proscenium developer Scott McQuarie is still trying to put financing components together, said Scott Bond, the city's assistant chief administrative officer.

"We're wanting to be there to support (McQuarie) in the ways that we can," Bond said. "It would be a good economic development project for the city. ... Ultimately, it is a private venture."

Small housing projects are moving forward in Sandy, as is construction for the Workers' Compensation office building near City Hall.

"We're kind of crossing our fingers that nothing new out there on the horizon surprises us," Bond said.
