ST. GEORGE — A former jail employee accused of having a sexual relationship with an inmate has struck a plea deal with prosecutors.
During an appearance in 5th District Court on Thursday, Stephanie Alldredge, 36, pleaded guilty to a third-degree felony count of custodial sexual relations. In exchange, Washington County prosecutors dismissed another charge.
A judge suspended a prison sentence of up to five years and ordered Alldredge to be placed on probation for 36 months and pay a $1,000 fine or complete 200 hours of community service.
St. George police said Alldredge was an employee at the Purgatory Jail when she met the inmate, who was on work release.
