The Utah Highway Patrol will perform a massive statewide DUI blitz involving 174 troopers over Easter weekend.
The blitz will involve every section of the UHP in the state.
"We will saturate roadways looking for the impaired driver — not just in one county, but in every corner of our state," said Utah Highway Patrol Col.Daniel Fuhr. "Our top priority is keeping everyone safe."
The reason for the DUI blitz is to reduce alcohol-related crashes and make sure the public travels safely throughout the weekend.
UHP plans to do similar statewide blitzes every month as it focuses on impaired and aggressive drivers, as well as seat-belt use.
The blitz will kick off Friday and run throughout the weekend.
