Salt Lake City police arrested a man and a juvenile Wednesday accused of going on an all-night car prowl spree.

The arrests were made even easier by the fact one of the suspects left his cell phone behind in one of the cars police say they burglarized.

Beginning just after midnight Wednesday, Benny Guler, 18, and a juvenile, started breaking into several cars, mainly in the area near 150 West and 1900 South, said Salt Lake police spokeswoman Lara Jones.

During one incident, Guler dropped his cell phone in one of the vehicles he had broken into, police said. The car owner told KSL he discovered the phone and found text messages on it talking about stolen property.

Both suspects were spotted by police and arrested, Jones said.
