The public can take part in free one-hour law classes and library tours April 13-16 at the State Law Library, which is on the first floor of the Matheson Courthouse, 450 S. State in Salt Lake City. The library is in room west 13.
The topics will include such things as "Introduction to Resources for Self-Represented Parties," which will address how to find a lawyer, how to get legal forms for court, and what legal clinics are available.
Another class on Westlaw basics will show individuals how to look for case law and statutes. There also will be an introductory course to HeinOnline that offers information on how to access legal publications.
Go to www.utcourts.gov/lawlibrary and click on "classes and law library tours" for a list of classes and times.
Although the classes are free, advance registration is required. To do so, e-mail library@email.utcourts.gov or call 801-238-7990.
