The Deseret News publishes letters that are overwhelmingly critical and often disparaging of President Barack Obama. Your editors, I presume, are pandering to the paper's core Republican readership.
In my experience, many Republicans are business-oriented and authoritative types. They often seek office with the intent of using legislation for profit rather than contributing to public service. Today's Republicans, certainly a contrary group, would rather prevent government from doing anything at all if unable to control policy.
The Bush administration was given eight full years and obliterated any chance for effective government. Your readers should give President Obama a chance to salvage something positive from this disaster.
