BYU Women's Conference to feature Elder Perry and Sister Beck

PROVO — The Brigham Young University Women's Conference, co-sponsored by the Relief Society of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, will be April 30 and May 1. The theme is "In the Strength of the Lord."

The opening session, which features BYU International Vice President Sandra Rogers, will begin at 9 a.m. on April 30 in the Marriott Center. The concluding session, which begins at 3:45 p.m. on May 1, will feature Elder L. Tom Perry of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.

"Women attend the conference to be spiritually uplifted and to feel strengthened by other women who share common values and face similar challenges," Rogers said. "This year's theme is repeated throughout the scriptures as people have had the ability to face whatever they needed to in life when they did it in the strength of the Lord."

More than 200 presenters will provide nearly 100 sessions, with up to 15 sessions to choose from each hour. Presenters include Sister Julie B. Beck, Relief Society general president; Camille Fronk Olson, associate professor of ancient scripture at BYU; and members of the Relief Society and Primary general presidencies.

A concert held at 8 p.m. on April 30 will feature well-known LDS recording artists Hilary Weeks, Eclipse and Jenny Oaks Baker.

Registration for both days of the conference is $47; one-day registration is $27. BYU faculty, staff and students with a BYU ID are eligible for a reduced registration fee of $15 for the full conference or $8 for one day.

Registration may be completed by phone at 801-422-8925, online at womensconference.byu.edu or in person at the Harman Building lobby on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration is open to both women and men age 16 and older. Nursing infants and young children will not be accommodated in any conference session.
