The church and the global community

Emeritus General Authority Elder Cree-L Kofford said the church is still developing important cultural and policy practices as it continues to grow in the global community.

"The Lord intends his gospel to go throughout the world," Elder Kofford said in the keynote address at the LDS International Society Conference held Monday, April 6, on the Brigham Young University campus.

One poignant question raised by Elder Kofford was whether prospective missionaries should be called to serve in their own countries or sent abroad to learn from seeing the church functioning at full capacity.
