UTAH STATE PRISON — A woman convicted of strangling her 21/2-year-old daughter to death will have her first parole hearing in June.
The Utah Board of Pardons and Parole announced Monday the parole hearing for Wendy Bullock, who was convicted of child abuse homicide in the death of her daughter back in January 2004. The girl was found in the backseat of Bullock's car at a pullout on I-70 near Thompson Springs. Police said at the time she sought help from another motorist, and asked for razor blades to hurt herself.
Bullock, 34, pleaded guilty but mentally ill to the crime and had been housed at the Utah State Hospital.
Bullock was given a one-to-15 year sentence, which the parole board said would expire in 2019. Like most inmates, Bullock is given an original hearing at which time the board will weigh various factors in determining when an inmate should be released from prison.
